Snail's Pace Race

Level: Early and Intermediate

Description: This is the antidote for children who need to learn turn taking, but can't tolerate frustration or losing. The six brightly colored wooden snails are moved along the board to the throw of color-coded dice. Although the children throw the dice and make guesses as to which snail will be first and last, the snails are not "owned" by any one child. Therefore it is the snails and not the children who win or lose the race, and frustration is kept to a minimum.
