Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Description: Sometimes our learners have a hard time using their imagination to make up a name for a pet or a doll. This charming book fills this niche perfectly. Read about a Dog that is called "Dog" but wants another name. Dog starts acting out in a naughty way, hoping that his activities might warrant him another name--like Digger, Barker, or Hunter. But this doesn't work and he just gets told "Bad dog", "Be quiet, Dog!" or something else like it. Disappointed, Dog hatches another scheme. He decides to behave perfectly, and sets about fetching slippers, collecting newspapers and being helpful. His masters are so pleased that they decide at last to give him a good dog's name. They come up with "Sweetheart," "Treasure Chest," "Honeybun," "Sugarpop," "Pudding Face," or "Angel Eyes." Guess what! Dog, realizes his mistake and tears off barking through the house. He decides, "Just Dog... Suits me fine!" A treasure of a book! Take a look at the concepts you can teach:
