Description: This is a really good Perspective/Theory of Mind book if read the right way. Miss Spider wants to have a tea party, but of course, the other bugs think they will be supper if they attend. Lonely Miss Spider has an opportunity to rescue a stranded moth, who tells other bugs that she is kind and harmless. They all settle down to a nice tea party. What is exceptional about this book (other than the fabulous drawings) is that you can read it at many levels for many skills. You can flip through it with an intermediate learner to teach bug or insect names. You can read it for math and counting skills (Yes, there is a sequentially increasing number of bugs on each page). You can modify the text (strongly suggested) and read it for perspective comprehension (e.g. The bugs are running away. They are scared fo Miss Spider. They think she wants to eat them. Miss Spider is lonely and sad.) Later, you can work in perspective and why questions (E.G. What do the bugs think will happen if they have tea? Why is Miss Spider sad?) This is a very versatile book. Advanced readers can read the author's text for rhyming and advanced word comprehension.
